'How Lucky Are We' is a celebration of queer friendship, chosen family, and the catharsis of simply being seen. This work is playful, mischievous, and tender. An ode to the pursuit of joy.
"I'm thinking about us
Rushing at the sound of the school bell
Making up hand shakes
I'm thinking - how lucky are we
To feel so deeply and be so young
I can’t hear that song without thinking of you
And the dance plays out in my mind"

More about the show and company
A collection of fierce friends and dynamic creatives. This show was seeded and nurtured by members of the queer community.
Land acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples on which we live, create, and dance. As a company of settler and immigrant artists, it is important to acknowledge the land and reflect on the Indigenous dances that took place on this land long before us and will take place long after us. We believe that words are empty without action and we will be donating a portion of our ticket sales to Indigenous Youth Roots.
