When idealistic but scattered Erik, a wannabe therapist, learns he’s being deported from Canada in thirty days, he scrambles to find a way to stay. With no legal work permit and mounting desperation, Erik hatches increasingly foolish schemes: from selling magic mushrooms to seniors to slinging MDMA at raves. Fast, funny, and painfully human, Paper Chase is a battle cry for every immigrant who ever got lost in the system, and fought like hell to stay anyway.
Paper Chase is based on the playwright's own 1,978-day journey (but who's counting) to obtain his Permanent Residency (minus the drug dealing).
