On a flight from Germany to the US, when a female pilot captures Azadeh’s attention, she begins to unravel the threads of her past, examining how the norms of a patriarchal society shaped her beliefs. With each revelation, Azadeh confronts the echoes of silence that shadowed her life, inviting the audience to reflect on their own untold stories. The play confronts the explicit ways in which women are taught to navigate power, silence, and survival. Confronting deeply personal experiences with men, Kangarani invites audiences to examine the consequences of sexual repression, internalized gender roles, and trauma that shape our lives.
