In this speculative tale, a Black clown finds herself on a Middle Passage journey of survival and repair. An unlikely deep sea diver, she becomes immersed in a salvage operation to recover what was lost. Drawing on African and Caribbean history and memory, this solo performance is a mash up of mime, movement, mask, and installation.
There will be two Black Out performances offered.
This production takes place in an art gallery and includes an exhibition alongside the performance. Audience members are welcome to stay for a Q&A and to visit the exhibition after each show.

Land acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we live and work on the unceded traditional territories of the Anishnabeg, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, on land which is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. As African descended people, we acknowledge that our ancestors were brought here by force, and we are committed to honouring the land, learning about Black and Indigenous histories, and standing in solidarity with Indigenous people as we work together toward decolonization and freedom.
