Runtime
55 minutes

A two-story community-knitted beanstalk, a magic harp who likes to imagine her audiences naked, a frustrated wife who's discovered "bigger isn't better", two puppets (one of them GIANT) and a fabulously fluid narrator who just wants to keep the show from falling off the stage.

Mixing ribald humour and some thought-provoking questions JACK'd, a Thief, a Murder, some Sex and a BEANSTALK! challenges us to laugh at ourselves while we question the stories we tell, especially the ones we tell ourselves.

Come on out and get JACK'd.

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge with awe and gratitude the peoples who have told stories and created art on these lands for millennia. The land on which we perform is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Sensory description

While the show is primarily dialogue driven there are important plot points that are movement/visually oriented. Primarily they are moments already known to most audience members: A giant beanstalk grows, A Harp is kidnapped and The Giant falls from the beanstalk to his death.
Two of our performances (Friday July 4th 4:00 PM and Wednesday July 9th 8:00 PM) will be both relaxed and captioned through projections on the wall above the stage to aid in the enjoyment of the show by those who are Deaf/hard of hearing.
All performances will include a "Masked Mandatory" seating area.
While the audience is addressed directly throughout the show, there is no interaction.
