Teen Fringe 2020 and the 2020 Toronto Fringe Festival have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Read our full statement here.
What is Teen Fringe?
Teen Fringe is a youth arts initiative for teens aged 12-17. The program was created by the Toronto Fringe in partnership with Scadding Court Community Centre and Edge of the Sky, the creative team from the award-winning Wexford Gleeks and the Fringe hits Summerland, The Fence, and Blood Ties.
The program invites young artists to train with leading professionals in acting, singing and dancing. These young artists then form a youth ensemble and take to the stage at the end of the festival.
The Teen Fringe program includes:
- 5 full days of training with leading theatre, music and dance professionals.
- Final performance as part of the free programming at the Fringe Patio.
- Free Rush Pass to all Toronto Fringe productions.
Applications for Teen Fringe 2021 will open in Spring 2021.
Please note, we welcome and encourage applications from people with accessibility needs. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process. All Teen Fringe participants must be between 12-17 years old and have their parent or guardian’s permission.
How much does it cost?
Teen Fringe training costs $300 for each young artist accepted to the program, payable upon admission into the program.
Please note that bursaries may be available for any participants that may not have access to funds for the program. We highly encourage any and all young artists to apply despite the program fee.
