Plan Your Visit to Next Stage
Next Stage is one of the most intimate festivals in Toronto, where audiences can get up close and personal with some of the best actors, creators, playwrights, and directors in the country. With only 12 shows over 12 days, it is possible to see everything!
Here are a few tips to make your experience at Next Stage one to remember.
Just like the work we curate for this festival, we challenge audience members to be bold and see shows that might go beyond their comfort zone. Go ahead and buy a ticket for that new musical, or stay for a second (or third!) show and see where the night takes you.
Since all of the shows are at Factory Theatre, it's easy to see them all.
Talk to Everyone
Next Stage is a festival that runs on word of mouth. Like a show? Tell someone about it. Not sure which show to see next? Ask someone! Don't be afraid to brave the cold and cozy up with other culture lovers in our heated Steam Whistle Festival Tent and discuss your experiences and thoughts.
What to Expect When You Arrive
When you arrive, go first to the Steam Whistle Festival Tent, located in the Factory Theatre courtyard across from the glass atrium (you can't miss it!). If you have your ticket confirmation email ready on your phone or printed, one of our friendly volunteers will let you know which line-up is yours. Don't have your ticket yet? Head to the box office table to purchase before lining up.
While you are waiting for your show to go into the theatre, get yourself a drink from the festival bar. They sell lots of hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, treats to put you in the mood. Not enough time to sip your hot toddy? Come back to the tent after the show to enjoy your drink.
Factory Theatre is located on the corner of Bathurst and Adelaide. It's easy to get to the threatre by streetcar (511 Bathurst or 504 King). Leave the car at home and don't worry about parking!
Theatre as a Gift
Next Stage passes make great holiday gifts! Give your loved one an experience that you can share.
