Land acknowledgement
We acknowledge and honour the original caretakers of this land who are many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. We acknowledge that we are benefiting from living on this stolen land. We also recognize this land is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples and that Tkaronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. We also acknowledge the diverse Black diaspora, many of whom were stolen and brought to this land against their will by the transatlantic slave trade, whose skills and knowledge were exploited by white supremacy and continue to be today.
