How do I check to see if I have a Fringe patron account?

If you have purchased a ticket to the Fringe or Next Stage through our website in the past 4 years, you most likely have a Fringe patron account!

To check, click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your browser window (when you hover over it, it will read "My Account") or click here. You can now select "Log In" and try your email and your password. If you don't think you know your password, select "Request New Password" at the very top of the page.

When you select "Request New Password" you will be asked to add your email and your new password will be emailed to you. If your email does not register with the system, you will be directed to create a new log in.

Once you have created an account, make sure you keep track of your log in details and password for future use!

Digital Fringe Content

What's the difference between On-Demand, Primetime, KidsFest, and POSTSCRIPT?

The Digital Toronto Fringe Festival has four different series this year: On-Demand, Primetime, KidsFest, and POSTSCRIPT. Click here for a full breakdown of each series, with links to the different types of shows.

I've purchased a Digital Fringe Membership. Why can't I access the On-Demand content?

First, are you logged in to the website? If you have purchased a Membership, your access to the On-Demand content is attached to your Fringe patron account, so you must be logged in to view. Think of it like Netflix - you can't watch a movie until you are signed in! See the FAQs above to learn how to log in.

Second, On-Demand content is only available to view during the 11 days of the festival, July 21-31. If you have a Membership and it's before July 21, that's great! You'll be all set for the first day of the festival (again, just make sure to log in before you want to start watching).

I tried to purchase a membership but got an error that I "cannot renew scheme". What do I do?

If you receive an error that reads "Customer cannot renew Scheme [TFF Membership 2021] too soon to renew", that means you already have a membership attached to your Fringe account. Log in to the website (see above FAQ questions for instructions), then navigate back to the page you were trying to view. If you are logged in and are still prompted to purchase a Membership, and then still receive an error, please click the purple button in the bottom right corner of your screen or contact general@fringetoronto.com and we'll help sort it out.

Can I pay for multiple On-Demand tickets in one transaction?

Yes! If you are logged in and have already purchased a Membership, navigate to the On-Demand show page you'd like to view. Add a Pay What You Can amount to your shopping cart by clicking "Donate Now", then after the site redirects you to your shopping cart click "Continue Shopping". You can then go into other shows and add another Pay What You Can tickets, or even add a few Primetime show tickets to your shopping cart. Once you have everything added, select "Checkout" and follow the prompts for payment.

Please note: items in your shopping cart will expire after 15 minutes. Make sure to complete your transaction before watching any content.

I've purchased tickets to a Primetime show. Now what?

Primetime shows are virtual theatrical experience that take place at a set time. If you've purchased a ticket for a show, you will have received a confirmation email with your purchase details, and will receive a second email closer to the show date/time with the link to the live performance. Primetime shows take place on various digital platforms to best suit the art being presented.

Depending on when you purchase your tickets, you may receive the performance link as close as 1 hour before the performance. If it is within an hour of the performance and you are concerned you have not received the link, please click on the purple button in the bottom right corner of your screen or email general@fringetoronto.com.

POSTSCRIPT Live(Stream)

How do I watch or attend POSTSCRIPT events?

POSTSCRIPT events will take place on 3 different platforms this year: Facebook Live, Zoom, and gather.town.

Facebook Live events are streamed directly to the Fringe's Facebook page and can be viewed as they are airing, or afterwards as a recording. The Comedy Night will take place on Zoom and requires pre-registration to receive the Zoom link (and to secure a "seat" in the Zoom room). gather.town is where our digital patio and hangout space is located, and is open every night of the festival from 9pm to 11pm. You will also need to register to receive the link to gather.town, but the link is good for the full 11 days of the festival (so no need to re-register every day).

For the full details on POSTSCRIPT events, click here.

I DON'T HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. CAN I STILL WATCH THE LIVE STREAMS?

Yes! Since the Toronto Fringe's Facebook is a public account, you can click on the link for each live stream event and watch it without having to log into Facebook. You can also watch the recorded event on our website after the event has aired live.

What is gather.town?

gather.town is a web-based platform that came to fame during the pandemic as a way to virtually spend time with friends and family that wasn't just boxes on a screen. We have recreated the POSTSCRIPT, the Fringe patio, in gather.town for all of us Fringers to have a taste of what it would be like to see each other in person. In the space you will find games, Fringe posters, drawing boards, porta-potties, empty cans of Steam Whistle, skate boards, and more. It's the closest we can get to being in the hockey rink at Scadding Court this summer!

If you have registered for the link to gather.town, you will be able to access the space as of July 21. In the meantime, if you'd like to check out the platform and test out the technology, you can check out a demo here

If you are experiencing technical difficulties in gather.town, there will be Fringe staff and volunteer to troubleshoot, or you can send an email to general@fringetoronto.com and we will do our best to help.
