About the Fringe Collective

How were the artists selected for the Fringe Collective?

Artists who were registered to participate in the original 2020 Toronto Fringe Festival as of April 7 were offered the chance to opt-in to the Collective and share a creative offering; a slot is still available to them in the 2021 Toronto Fringe Festival.

And, in keeping with CAFF regulations, the artists and artwork of the Fringe Collective will not be curated, censored, or juried in any way. The full list of artists offerings are available as a downloadable PDF.

How do I access the content? How much is it?

All artists offerings will be divided into four "acts". Each act will only be available for 3 days at a time:

Act 1 July 1-3
Act 2 July 4-6
Act 3 July 7-9
Act 4 July 10-12

Add a pass to your Fringe account on the first day of each act to access the artist offerings in that section. Passes will be available via a Tip-What-You-Can model: you decided how much you can or want to tip the Collective! We suggest a tip of $13 per Act, the cost of one typical Fringe ticket.

When I tip the Collective, where does the money go?

All profits obtained by the Toronto Fringe will be split as follows: 70% of profits will be shared equally between all companies in the Collective, and 30% of profits will support the administrative costs of the Fringe.

How do I create a new Fringe patron account?

Click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your browser (when you hover over it, it will read "My Account"). Select "Create new account" at the very top of the page. You will be asked to add your email,  password, and contact details.

Once you have created an account, make sure you keep track of your log in details and password for future use!

When you select "Request New Password" you will be asked to add your email and your new password will be emailed to you. If your email does not register with the system, you will be directed to create a new log in.

How do I reset my Fringe patron account password?

Click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your browser window (when you hover over it, it will read "My Account"). Select "Request New Password" at the very top of the page.

When you select "Request New Password" you will be asked to add the email associated with the Fringe patron account and your new password will be emailed to you. If your email does not register with the system, you will be directed to create a new log in.

When does each Act go live on the website?

Each Act is live on the website for 3 days (72 hours), opening and closing at midnight:

Act 1: July 1-3
Act 2: July 4-6
Act 3: July 7-9
Act 4: July 10-12

How do I purchase an Act Pass?

Act passes are only available for purchase during the 3 days (72 hours) that the Act is live on our website. When the Act you are interested in is live, click on the title on the Fringe Collective about page. You will be prompted to sign in to your Fringe patron account, add the pass to your basket, add a tip for the Fringe Collective (we suggest a tip of $13), and complete your transaction. The Act Pass will be attached to your account for the remaining time that the Act is live. You will also receive email confirmation of your pass.

Please note, that Act Passes are only active for the three days each Act is live. For example, if you purchase an Act 1 Pass on July 3, you will only have until midnight to view all content in Act 1. We encourage you to purchase your Act pass on the first day of each Act to see as much artist content as possible!

To access the content throughout the 3 days of the Act, make sure you are first logged in to your Fringe patron account and then navigate to the live Act page. To log in to your account, click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your screen and log in with your email and password. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access the Act page without having to click through the paywall.

How do I purchase a Fringe Collective Membership Pass?

$100 Fringe Collective Membership Passes were available for purchase from June 17 to July 2.

A Membership Pass grants you access to all four Acts of the Collective as they become live without having to add another pass to your account.

Please note, a Membership Pass does not grant to access to all 12 days of Fringe Collective content at once. You will still only be able to access the content one act at a time for the 3 days they are live on the website.

To access the content throughout the 3 days of each Act, make sure you are first logged in to your Fringe patron account and then navigate to the live Act page. To log in to your account, click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your screen and log in with your email and password. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access the Act page without having to click through the paywall.

I've purchased a Membership or Act Pass. Why can't I access the live Act page?

If you have purchased a Membership or Act Pass, it is attached to your Fringe patron account until it expires. Memberships are good for all four acts, while Act Passes expire at midnight on the final day the Act is live.

If you know you have a valid pass but you can't access the live Act, make sure you are logged in to your Fringe patron account. To log in, click on the 'head' icon in the top right corner of your browser window (when you hover over it, it will read "My Account"). Log in with your email and password, and then navigate back to the live Act you are trying to access.

POSTSCRIPT Live(Stream)

How do I watch the POSTSCRIPT live stream events?

All the POSTSCRIPT live stream events will be hosted here on the Toronto Fringe's Facebook page. Events will stream live, and then will be recorded and saved so you can watch them anytime during the 12 days of the Fringe Collective.

For more information about the times, dates, and content of all the POSTSCRIPT events, click here

I don't have a Facebook account. Can I still watch the live streams?

Yes! Since the Toronto Fringe's Facebook is a public account, you can click on the link for each POSTSCRIPT live stream event and watch it without having to log into Facebook. You can also watch the recorded event on the POSTSCRIPT page our website after the event has aired live.

Check back for more details and the live stream links closer to the festival.
